What brands see besides love on Valentine's Day ?

Valentine's Day: the holiday invented by greeting card companies to make people feel like crap, as Jim Carrey remembers us in Eternal Sunshine of the Spottless Mind. But besides the cynicism, there's some truth: many firms every year take advantage of this day to celebrate love while raising awareness around their brands or products. This is great opportunity to create engagement with consumers and try to create stronger relationships with them.Let’s see some of the best commercials that have been launched over the last years!


KFC - 2019

The film starts with something unexpected for Colonel Sanders: meatballs. Soon we realise that KFC is not adding the beef bucket to the menu: they only want to make clear that they “refuse to cook anything else but chicken”. We acknowledge that fried chicken might not be the most romantic food on earth, but KFC knows the true meaning of loving exclusively


Closeup - 2019

Have you ever thought about testing love between bots? Closeup, the Unilever-owned toothpaste brand, made an interesting (yet scary) experiment: they choose two different bots (Sol and Num) and let them interact for hours. At the beginning the conversation was pretty flat, but suddenly something extraordinary happens: the two bots began to converse more deeply, reaching a level of intimacy and complexity that makes it hard to believe that they’re not human.


Groupon - 2018

Who wouldn’t listen to Tiffany Haddish’s advice when trying to make their lover happy?


That is what Group on thought for its 2018 Valentine’s Day campaign.The actress, with her bubbly personality, suggest men to be more creative with Valentine’s gift, adding that they can still buy flowers for their partners with the money saved on Groupon.


So far, we have seen brands that usually people don’t relate with Valentine’s Day, so now we want to show you some classics: obviously, we are talking about chocolate.


Galaxy - 2017

This chocolate brand knows how to tell a Cupid’s story. This short film is showing us the importance of slow down and stop being always in a rush, otherwise Cupid will not be able to catch us with his arrows.


M&M’s – 2017

We thought that Red found the one and that Valentine’s Day would have been the perfect occasion to declare his love, but when the time comes, words don’t come out the way they’re supposed to. M&M’s doesn’t want this to happen again to Red or anybody else, so they are here to help express our feelings with personalised M&M’s candies.
